A diverse group united by our love of craft beer
We're teachers, engineers, retirees, students, and everything in between - but when we gather, we're all brewers. Our members range from curious beginners still learning extract brewing to competition veterans who've taken home medals from national championships.
What sets us apart is our welcoming, no-judgement culture. Every question is valid, every batch (even the "learning experiences") is celebrated, and everyone's brewing journey is supported.

Our Brewing Philosophy
We believe the best beer is the one you enjoy making. While many of our members push for competition-level precision, we equally celebrate the kitchen-sink experiments, the happy accidents, and the "let's see what happens" batches. Brewing should be fun first - the delicious beer is just a bonus.
Rooted in the Yarra Valley
The Yarra Valley is renowned worldwide for its wines, but we're proud to fly the flag for craft beer in this beautiful region. Located just an hour from Melbourne's CBD, our valley offers rolling hills, world-class produce, and a thriving craft beverage scene.
Our location inspires our brewing - we often incorporate local ingredients like Yarra Valley honey, fruits from neighboring orchards, and even collaborate with local maltsters and hop growers.

Club Founded
A small group of homebrew enthusiasts start Yarra Valley Brewers on 19th Sep 2005
Official Competition
Yarra Valley Brewers hosts one of its first Belgian Beerfest competitions at Coldstream Brewery.
Growing Community
Membership continues to grow, and established partnerships with local homebrew shops and venues.
Bigger Competitions
Annual Belgian Beerfest exceeds expectations at Hargreaves Hill Brewing Company.
Today
Now 25+ members strong, hosting regular events, competitions, and welcoming brewers from across Melbourne.
